Hello there

Hello there. If you don’t know me, I am Suzanne, the owner of Genesia Pilates.

When my son was one year old, a physio recommended that I do yoga or Pilates to help me recover from a back injury. I had never done yoga and I had done one Pilates class at a gym which I didn’t enjoy.

In the end, I only chose Pilates because I found a studio that had a creche attached. I went to my first class not knowing what to expect.

I am thankful that I found a studio that taught quality Pilates and was tailored to my needs. My back wouldn’t have recovered without personalised attention and instruction.

I fell in love with Pilates from the very first class and I dreamt of being a Pilates instructor.

Two years ago, I opened Genesia Pilates. The journey to opening the studio and gaining my qualifications was complicated – isn’t that life? Two pregnancies and an unexpected surgery took me back to the beginning of rebuilding my strength over and over again. At the time, it was frustrating but I’ve come to appreciate it. I learnt so much about the Pilates method by experiencing in my own body how Pilates can restore function and health.

My priority as an instructor is to help my clients understand their bodies and build a strong foundation from which we can progress.

I am so lucky to work doing what I love and it brings me such pleasure to see the difference Pilates makes to my client’s lives.
